Description

Life is not a story written only in happiness or in pain. It is woven from countless moments—sometimes we laugh, and sometimes we quietly break inside. At times, we live for our family; at times, we struggle for our dreams. Sometimes a city embraces us, and sometimes its crowd forces us to lose ourselves. Sometimes love arrives like a remedy, and sometimes it remains as an ache. And sometimes, struggle itself becomes our identity.

It is this tangled yet meaningful life that I have tried to string into words. I did not write with overthinking or planning—whatever I felt simply flowed into these poems. This book, like my life, is not straightforward, but it is true.

In these words are my mother’s blessings,
my father’s silence,
the gentle warmth of love,
the dust-filled truth of city nights,
and the exhaustion of those days of struggle
when even a small lamp of hope can change everything.

When you read these poems, I hope you feel something within yourself too—perhaps a memory, a regret, a smile, or just a quiet understanding.

I am not a poet, just a human being. And this book is simply a few words gathered from the journey of life—written just like that, Bas Yoon Hi.
