About The Book
Over the last few decades, a large number of natural disasters including earthquakes, cyclones, hurricanes and floods have played havoc with mankind. Several human made tragedies have also struck in wars and terrorist acts, requiring management of disasters in an efficient way. The present title outlines basic guidelines for all stakeholders in case of disaster strikes and also suggests ICT advancement as a means to reduce the disaster risk.
About the Author:
Dr. Bhoomi Gupta, graduated from Delhi University and holds a master’s degree in technology from GGSIP university. Her doctoral thesis on Disaster Risk Reduction was completed at Punjab Technical University, and she also holds a PG diploma in Disaster Management from IGNOU. With over 16 years of teaching, research and administrative experience, she has a keen interest in contemporary and future directions of information technology. She has contributed several titles for IGNOU study material and has to her credit a number of national and international research publications.
